Ideally located between Madeleine, Concorde and Opera, this spacious, stylish and bright boutique B&B is family run by the charming Chantal and Joe, who love to offer guests their perfectly presented large guest room with private ensuite, gourmet freshly purchased organic breakfasts and plenty of insider tips and advice about Paris. Stay here is you want to chat with your hosts like old friends and if you value conscious natural living.
About your hosts:
Chantal and Joe have been living in Paris for over 20 years. Chantal is a very pleasant hostess, very lively and creative. She loves to invite friends and prepare refined dinners, take time to communicate with people, go to see a movie. She also has a passion for fashion and decoration as she worked with her parents in the fashion field before she joined the marketing team of an international company.
Joe has a degree as s chemical engineer, but he has mainly worked in the finance field. He loves sports, walks in Paris and bicycle strolls. He is calm and quiet, likes to read and go to the theater.
Both Chantal and Joe know Paris well, as well as their area where they have been living for more than 20 years.
They love to discover at any time a new street, a new covered gallery, a pleasant bar, a shop, a book shop. But over all, they are very interested in the people they meet: the tourists who ask them for directions, the business men who are in a hurry on their way to La Défense, the Parisians who go and buy their baguette bread.
Chantal and Joe have two sons, one, born in 1987, still lives in their home. You can also have the opportunity of meeting the elder son, born in 1985, who visits his parents very often.
What Chantal loves most in Paris is observing Paris as a 'melting pot' where all the styles and social classes meet, all the noises of the city, including the songs of the birds, the different scents of the markets, in the gardens, the rhythms, the lights, a charm which is different at each season.
Both of them love to travel. They are open to the world and its different cultures, and they pay special attention to people staying in their home.
They have traveled to: Japan, Malaysia, Silk Tour, China, Yunnan for a treck "Yunnan by foot", Sri Lanka, India, the Reunion Island, Mauritius, Cuba, Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Unites States, Canada, Peru, Argentina and of course most of the European capitals. Chantal loves Asia for the kindness of the Asian people, their philosophy of life and the multi-generation families living all together.
They stayed several time in bed and breakfasts and enjoyed it, especially in Lousiana, which gave them the idea to open this guest room in their home to receive tourists from all over the world. They speak very good English and German and Spanish well enough. Chantal understands a little Italian and knows some words of Russian.
Guests are assured to will feel perfectly at ease at their home and with them and since Chantal and Joe love to go to restaurants, movies and theaters, walks in Paris. Therefore, they will be able to give you good advice for your visits and, according to their availability, they offer to take you for a free tour in Paris, by foot or bicycle.
About the apartment:
Your host's apartment is located in a mansion which was built at the end of the 19th century. The building is located in an area where the historical monuments are protected and its facade is typically Parisian.
The building has been renovated in 1981 and the apartment was re-designed in 2009.
The apartment is located on the fifth floor (with elevator) and it is very bright. It is wide and offers a light, harmonious and relaxing atmosphere. Its furniture made of brown wengé wood has been created by Jean-Daniel Pilon (designer in Montréal) after Chantal made a little drawing to show him what she wanted. In the living room there is a beautiful lamp with short words of love in different languages, which has been made by another designer, Ingo Maurer.
Throughout the apartment are numerous windows where you can see the roofs of Paris.
The guest room is just at the entry of the apartment, it is separated
from the private part of your hosts by a large space of 40 m2 including the dining room, living room and an open kitchen.
In addition to the guest room, you can go and relax in the beautiful living room as much as you wish.
About the Guestroom:
It is more than a bedroom which is offered to you, but a small suite of 19 square meters with a bedroom of 12 square meters and its 'en suite' bathroom of 7 square meters.
The bedroom is equipped with a large double bed Queen size (160cm x 200cm)with a firm and comfortable Bultex mattress.
The bed is prepared with a quilt and pillows without feathers. The decoration is contemporary, made of clear and relaxing colors, mostly white and it is furnished with a wardrobe with shelves, a library with racks very close to the bed to put your current belongings and a television with remote control.
Your host paid special attention to the room to offer you a healthy and natural environment in order to minimize the risks of allergies : wooden floor, furniture made of wood, wicker or bamboos, linen made of natural fibers (or dominant cotton), pillows and quilt without feathers.
Everything has been studied in this 'suite' to bring you the comfort expected by the visitors, either they come for tourism or business.
Cleaning is carried out every day.
About the Bathroom:
The bathroom is 'en suite' with the bedroom and it is for your personal use only. It is 7 square meters and it is lighted, which is rare enough in Paris, by a window. It is equipped with a bath with a shower on the wall, a wash-basin with a square mirror, a cupboard with a mirror inside, a heating system for towels and two stools.
The toilets are private and they are in the bathroom.
The bathroom is decorated with bright colors (green and white)
to give you energy to begin your day.
The stools are made of egg packings and they are home made, inspired by a picture seen in a decoration magazine, as well as the part below the wash-basin which is made of bamboos that Chantal cut in a friend's garden.
A hair-dryer and bath products (soap, shampoo, body milk) are at your disposal, as well as slippers and dressing gowns.
Bath towels are changed when guests wish. Please do not do as in the hotels when people leave the towels on the ground, but tell Chantal at breakfast when you want them to be changed.
Breakfast is served between 7.30 am and 10.30 am in the dining room. According to your wishes, you can have it alone in the dining room, in private, or with your hosts. It is typically Parisian and made of a hot drink (coffee, tea, warm milk or chocolate), a large glass of fruit juice, a yogurt, cereals, fresh croissants of the day, as well as the famous Parisian baguette, to be covered with butter, honey of jam. A basket full of fruits will also be at your disposal all day long.
- Your arrival or deposit of your bags are possible at any time of the day if you let your host know about it and respect if. You can have an immediate access to the bedroom if there is no departure of other guests on on the same day. Otherwise, you can have access in the afternoon after it has been prepared for you.
- Please note before arriving at the elevator, there are 8 stairs to climb.
- Your hosts wish to receive only non smoking guests.
- Your hosts do not have any pets and do not want to receive any at their home.
- Your hosts' apartment is Wifi equipped. You can also have an access to the computer in the living room, occasionally and for free.
- In order to optimize the surface (12 square meters) of the bedroom, your hostess did not put any desk nor chair in the bedroom. You can take the stools of the bathroom if you wish. You have a complete access to the living room and the desk, created by design Jean-Daniel PILON of Montréal, when your hosts do not use it, if you need to a table to go to Internet, read or write postcards. Upon request, Chantal can also give you folding chairs.
- Upon request, an iron and ironing board will be put at your disposal.
- Your hosts can prepare a tray with cheeses (ask enquire directly with your host to know the price according to the quantity required at least 48 hours in advance).
- If you need to have your clothes washed, there is a dry cleaning five minutes' walk from home, rue Caumartin or rue de l'Arcade, and a laundry 10 minutes' walk, on Place du Marché Saint-Honoré.

Comment: Indeed we have had a wonderful stay. So glad you recommended Chantal's B&B. she is fantastic. Can not fault anything. Fantastic room servicing and provision of extras - regular change of towels. Excellent quality bed and linen. Very professional, warm and caring with such charm and grace. Breakfasts were always sumptuous banquets that have to be seen to be believed - explorations of French bread, pastry and of course, fromage! Wonderful apartment and room, good size very chic and comfortable and private. Tea, coffee, snacks, fresh fruit and other little treats always available Thanks you to Petite B&B and huge thanks and gratitude to Chantal and Joe who made our stay so memorable.

Comment: The B&B at Chantal and Joe's was perfect for us in every aspect. Chantal was a gracious, pleasant and helpful host and we enjoyed our time in Paris very much which we feel was contributed to by the 'inside info' Chantal shared with us. All those little things that locals know can be invaluable in saving time and discovering a different side to a city. Breakfast was always a delight with delicious pastries selected by Chantal each morning for us. We also used this time to practice a little french. The location was perfect and central to everything. We walked everywhere from Chantal's - we did spend up to 10 hours a day walking but as you know there are so many jardins and parks where you can stop a while and rest before exploring further. We would highly recommend Chantal's B & B and would rate it 10/10.

Comment: Chantal and Joe have been most generous. always available and offering such great service. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful, giving valuable advice on places to visit and eat. We felt at home and appreciated everything about it - the nice firm bed was perfect, the room was well lit and warm - everything was perfect and extremely clean and tidy. Even the bathroom products were of high quality. Breakfast was one of the highlights of our the trip. Our host bought the best bread and pastries in Paris, and we were overwhelmed with delight. One morning we were also surprised by a wonderful cheese platter showing us a variety of tasty cheeses available in France. Excellent! We were very satisfied with Petite Paris and the booking service too, they were extremely helpful with a great secure setup and payment system and will will definitely use the service again for the next trip. We hope we can return to Chantal and Joe’s.

Comment: Our stay in Paris with Chantal and Joe was great,it was our third time to Paris in 2 years and we were delighted with our B&B,it could not have been any better.Chantal tries so hard to have everything 100% and it was.The position was great and as we enjoy staying in the Opera district it felt like being at home. The security was excellent and easy to use,the lift was great, the bedroom and ensuite was superior to the 3 star hotel accommodation we have used on previous visits and having the use of the sitting room made it complete. We can not speak highly enough of Chantal and Joe and would be happy to recommend them to our family friends.

Comment: Chantal was a friendly, helpful host who went out of her way for us – breakfast was exceptional and she found gluten free products for my wife and recommended restaurants. The room was as comfortable as the 5 star hotels we’ve stayed in. Clean, bright and the perfect base to see Paris from. We chatted with Chantal over tea and she gave us excellent directions, suggested a music recital at the Madeleine Church which proved a most memorable experience of our holiday. We were looking to have a more personal connection with Paris and the Parisian way of life and we were very satisfied on both counts”

Comment: I had never stayed at a BnB before and was not really sure what to expect. Chantal and Joe were friendly, helpful and provided a great insight into Paris. I stayed with my 7-year-old daughter and Chantal and Joe went out of their way to provide extra special treats for her. Our room had fresh water and biscuits, and a numerous resources for getting around and seeing Paris. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast, there was always an huge choice of bread and pastries and Chantal paid particular notice of my daughters choices to ensure that they were always there again the next day. I would 100% recommend this B&B and would only ever stay here on our return.

She was a great host, always thinking of what we needed and suggesting how to get around and offering great advise. I would 100% recommend this BnB and would only ever stay here on our return. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast, there was always an huge choice of bread and pastries and Chantal paid particular notice of my daughters choices to ensure that they were always there again the next day.
