About the B&B:
Marie-Christine's bed and breakfast is located on the 4th floor (no elevator) in the Hotel de Joyeuse, a historic monument in Paris, a building reminiscent of the historic area, le Marais, the oldest village in Paris. Hence guests will find all sorts odd peculiarities about the home that is so alluringly characteristic of typical old Paris homes, i.e slopping wooden flooring in each of the guest rooms, odd shaped doors etc. Authenticity seeking travellers will love it!
The building dates back from the XVII century, when the King Louis the XIII had the Place Royale built (Place des Vosges since the Revolution). The view from the breakfast room over the rooftops is impressive and romantic.
There is a piano in the lounge room where guests are welcome to relax with a small library of books. Life is simple, easy and happy in Marie-Christine's home.
Our B&B offers two tranquil and charming guest rooms, each with its own character and atmosphere. The rooms offered are the 'Room Revolution' and 'Room Victor Hugo'.
Is a small bright room, 13m2, decorated in warm tones, awash with morning sun. The view of the Rue du Foin is typically Parisian! Beautifully decorated, the room includes a double bed (190x140cm) with clean quality linens and blankets that are changed every 2 days and with each new arrival, a closet for luggage storage and a well-stocked bookcase with books and magazines, a kettle with tea/coffee making items (sugar, milk, teas and coffee). The is an ensuite shower with clean quality towels and basic toiletries of soap and shampoos. Robe and slippers can be provided on request.
Room Victor Hugo:
Is a small 15m2 bright room, with hot and spicy hues and notes, cozy, comfortable and tranquil. Beautifully decorated, the room includes a double bed (190x140cm) with clean quality linens and blankets that are changed every 2 days and with each new arrival, a closet for luggage storage, a well-stocked bookcase, an electric kettle with tea/coffee making items (sugar, milk, herbal teas and coffee). There is an ensuite shower with clean quality towels and basic toiletries of soap and shampoos. Robe and slippers can be provided on request.
The toilets are separate to each of the guest rooms and are to be shared between the two rooms.
Please note there is no TV in the guest room. Paris is much more interesting; read a book to unwind or spend time enjoying chats with Marie-Christine.
About the Breakfast Experience:
Your hostess, Marie-Christine, will serve you an excellent traditional French breakfast that is all BIO (organic), consisting of 2 baguettes, croissant or pain au chocolate, eggs, yogurt and fruit, tea, coffee, chocolate and juice and then will unlock the secrets of Paris and help you decide which sites to visit first, according to your interests. Comment: Apartment was very well located in the heart of the Marais and Paris in general and the metro very close. It was a well-appointed and comfortable room, and a plus for a bed and breakfast, the individual bathroom and especially a hostess of smiling, welcoming and discreet nature with many good tips for a pleasant stay.

Comment: My daughter and her friend traveled to Paris a day after graduating high school. They stayed at Les Toits du Marais in beautiful quartier Du Marais for five nights while exploring the city. Marie-Christine's hospitality exceeded all expectations. Her breakfasts were copious and her kindness toward these two American young women was remarkable. Room Revolution was comfortable and fairly priced, and it provided a safe haven after long days of walking and sight-seeing. Staying at Les Toits du Marais bed and breakfast will guarantee a genuine French experience to any traveler eager to discover Paris.

Comment: Would highly recommend this place. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, the apartment was clean and the room included a shower en suite. To top it up, the breakfast was fantastic - boiled eggs, pastries, delicious bread, fruit, yogurt, home made marmalade and tea / coffee.

Comment: Our B&B was very centrally located in the Marais District, between 2 metro entrances; there was a bus that took you to the Opera, a very short ride; there were restaurants and bars within walking distance. We walked to the Musee d'Orsay which was a pleasant healthy walk. Our room was smallish and had a comfortable bed with a small ensuite; it was light and we had access to the lounge area and the dining room where we were served breakfast each morning (included in the rate), which consisted of fresh fruit (a different variety each morning), juice, tea/coffee, cheese, baguette and croissants. There was also a large bottle of water left in our room each day. Laundry facilities were offered, but we didn’t take advantage of same. Our host, was delightful and she had a grasp of the English language and was able to provide us with the information asked of her. The apartment is located on the 5th floor and has no elevator; it is secure, safe and clean. There is a second double room which is larger and also has an ensuite. There is no air conditioning but we asked for a fan and it was provided. The apartment is located on a main street. Given the hotel rates in Paris, I thought it was value for money (inclusive of all taxes, services and fees) and I would recommend it. Thank you.

Comment: My husband and I wanted to stay in the Marais and have a Parisian bed and breakfast experience. Marie Christine was the perfect hostess and our breakfasts were more than we could eat! Our room was accommodating and a nice place to relax after a busy day visiting museums. We would return to B&B Marie-Christine again!
