About your hostess:
Your host, Martine, was born in Paris in the area where she still lives at present. After spending 25 years in London, she decided to come back to Paris and she had the opportunity to buy two apartments on the same floor, which allows her now to offer an independent guest room.
She knows Paris very well and goes on exploring it by herself or with friends from the French-British association of which she is a member. Through this association, she is well aware of all the new exhibitions, books, theatre shows and movies. Moreover, she is the one responsible for the cine club.
She will be happy to give you advice on all these subjects, as well as to recommend the best restaurants that she also knows well also.
Martine is a free lance foreign languages teacher, she has a diploma from the Sorbonne University. When she was living in London, she was teaching French and Spanish. Now she is back to Paris, she teaches English and Spanish, she makes translations and works as an interpreter. She also speaks Italian and German.
Martine loves cooking and realising dishes from different countries, and when she has time enough, she wrotes novels.
Thanks to her B&B service, she meets many tourists and gets to practice many foreign languages, speak and exchange views with people from different countries and status, which she loves especially.
About the apartment:
Martine lives in a Haussmannian building from the end of the 19th century. It is located on the 'noble' level, i.e. on the second floor (without elevator) and offer a balcony of 30 meters all around the apartment. Martine had her apartment furnished in different styles, there are old pieces of furniture which come from her family, English and French pieces of furniture, and contemporary ones.
About your independent guest bedroom:
In the past, the private part of this Bed and Breakfast which is offered
to the visitors was an independent 2-rooms apartment close to Martine's
one. Martine bought it for her daughter, so that she can live by
herself progressively. Now that her daughter does not live there
anymore, she decided to transform it into a guest room, and she replaced
the kitchen by a bathroom, and she opened a door between the two
Therefore, the guest room benefits from a private entry.
It has been renovated in 2012 and it is equipped with a large new Queen Size double bed (160 x
190 cm), two small bedside tables, an armchair, a chest of drawers, a cupboard and a television.
The bedroom is very quiet as it window opens on an inner courtyard with trees, from which you will see Montparnasse Tower in the distance.
The ground is covered with a carpet, so it may be not suitable to people who suffer from allergies.
About the second bedroom OR private living room:
If you travel with a family (no children under 5 year old),
or with friends, or just if you want to benefit from a private living room,
there is a second room it the private part offered to the visitors.
There is a convertible sofa in this room which can be opened as a double bed (140x190cm)
and then receive two other people from your group (this bedroom is never rented to another family).
